Profile:

Alfred McAlister acts as the Commercial Construction Manager and Safety Director for Catalano’s Construction, Inc. Alfred has managed all commercial construction projects for the corporation since 2002. Alfred’s responsibilities include competitive cost estimating in public and private sectors, issuance of AIA documentation, project documentation and quality control. Alfred works closely with Architects and Engineers to interpret all structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications. Alfred ensures that project superintendants are monitoring all labor forces, maintaining safe project conditions and adhere to all contractual obligations. Alfred has managed a myriad of projects financed by USDA Rural Development, Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Maine State Housing Authority, Bureau of Parks and Lands and Bureau of General Services (BGS).

Alfred has retained knowledge in the construction industry by working in various trades. In 19 years Alfred has worked as a laborer, concrete carpenter, framing carpenter and professional high-rise structural steel ironworker. Alfred also holds an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences – Building Construction Technology from Eastern Maine Community College. Alfred has also held several managerial positions with large construction firms prior to his arrival at Catalano’s Construction, Inc.

Alfred is also the primary safety officer for the corporation and is OSHA certified. Alfred ensures that all employees adhere to our corporate safety rules and regulations, which meet and exceed OSHA requirements.
