Kennebec Valley Community College Frye Wing Energy Retrofit
This project consisted of creating an energy efficient building envelope with stimulus ARRA funding. The entire exterior system and components were removed and replaced with a brick and copper façade. Interior systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical and integrated data systems were re-worked to accommodate the College's new needs. During the exterior improvements, the College acquired additional funding which enabled them to make structural repairs to the existing roof system. Structural steel reinforcements, bar joists, EPDM , and metal decking, were the components replaced on the roof. Customized copper panels and thin brick applications were part of the exterior wall system. Aluminum glass air lock entry ways were added to maximize natural light and accessibility to the building.
